Will the Cigarette Ban in the United Kingdom Force Bingo Players On to the Net?

Much has been reported in the papers not long ago about the bingo industry being hit because of the cigarette ban in England. Conditions have become so bad that in Scotland the Bingo industry has requested huge tax cuts to assist in keeping the industry from going bankrupt. But does the online variation of this classic game provide a reprieve, or might it in no way compare to its real life relative?
Bingo has been an classic game usually played by the "blue rinse" generation. For all that the game of late had seen a recent comeback in appeal with younger men and women deciding to hit the bingo parlors in place of the clubs on a Saturday night. This is all about to change with the legislating of the smoking ban across UK.
No longer will gamblers be permitted to smoke while dabbing numbers. From the summer of 2007 every public location will not be allowed to permit smoking in their locations and this includes Bingo halls, one of the most popular areas where folks like to smoke.
The outcome of the anti smoking law can already be looked at in Scotland where smoking is already banned in the bingo parlors. Numbers have plunged and the industry is literally struggling for its life. But where did the players go? Obviously they have not forgotten this ancient game?
The answer is on the web. Gamblers are now realizing that they can gamble on bingo from their computer at the same time enjoying a cocktail and cig and still enjoy huge prizes. This is a recent phenomenon and has happened almost perfectly with the anti cigarette law.
Of course wagering on on the net is unlikely to replace the collective aspect of going down to the bingo hall, but for a demographic of men and women the governing edicts have left a number of bingo players with no option.
