Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That’s because the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for many years. Clients from many of the surrounding states pile in passenger cars and visit Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. From that time, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian bands located in Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the gambling laws, and today operate 10 casinos of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were founded. computerized games like slot machine games were not authorized, since they are thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts have altered to allow for enormous Native wagering casinos. You will now see Amerindian gambling dens with slot machine games, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Indian casinos yet, although this is just a matter of time. No one can determine what having different casino games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
